About Clarence E. Wright

Clarence E. Wright is the Senior Pastor of the Love Zion Baptist Church in Philadelphia, PA. He holds a degree in World Religion from Temple University (BA), and degrees in Missional Theology (MA) and Divinity (MDiv) from Biblical Theological Seminary where he received the MDiv award for outstanding academic achievement and the President’s award for exemplifying the mission of the school. He is currently an incoming doctoral candidate at the historic Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School.

His career has been dedicated to public service including; community economic development, homeless advocacy, international missions and service in the local church. He has worked to improve urban communities in the United States and participated in international mission immersions on 5 continents.

Pastor Wright is also an accomplished gospel organist, worship leader, and choir director as well as a writer and performance poet. He is a multiple time Philadelphia Grand Slam champion, national team representative and coach. He was the Haiku champion at the 2015 Individual World Poetry Slam and in 2016, he studied poetry as a Callaloo Creative Writing Fellow at Brown University. Most importantly he is the devoted husband of Corinne Wright, a proud father of 3 and a follower of Jesus Christ.
